The Kim Craft Desk
Rather than enforcing organization, the desk embraces the reality that many crafters work across multiple projects simultaneously and are often discouraged by the effort required to reset their workspace between sessions. Designed for multi-disciplinary makers whose creative process is non-linear and often unfinished
Research & Analysis
Conducted a survey for insight on my research question, 'How could a desk support multi-disciplinary makers manage multiple projects and evolving workflows at home?' Spoke with experts in the field of furniture, and began sketching.
Development
Exploration and protoyping with cardboard, and CAD prototyping
Construction
Created shop drawing, planed/joined wood planks, built, sanded, and finished desk
